Your grading scheme vs. the usual default

Below is a comparision between the current unintended grading scheme, and the usual default one we provide for all UCI Canvas courses. To help you understand the differences better, we have provided a few points below and a screenshot of each grading scheme for side-by-side comparison.

• The current grading scheme for your course does not include “A+” as it has in past terms.
• The ranges for what qualifies as a + or – for any given letter grade have been modified slightly.

Changing your course Grading Scheme

If you have decided to change your grading scheme after reviewing the details above, you can follow these steps to change your course(s) scheme to the EEE Grading Scale (UCI).

1. Open one of your effected Spring 2022 Canvas course spaces
2. Navigate to the course Settings area
3. Scroll down to the Grading Scheme section and click view grading scheme
   
4. Click Select Another Scheme in the upper right.
   
5. Choose the EEE Grading Scale (UCI)
6. In the View/Edit Grading Scheme box, scroll down until you see the Use This Grading Standard button
7. Click the Use This Grading Standard button
   
8. Click Done
9. Finally, move on to other courses that may be affected
