Yuja

YuJa is lecture capture software that allows you to pre-record and upload your lectures to Canvas. UCI Replay, powered by YuJa, is now connected to Canvas using the YuJa LTI. This tool can be used to record and share lectures or upload existing lectures and other rich course media.

How to Integrate with Canvas

Log in to Canvas.
Open your course space.
Select Settings on the left-hand menu.
Open the Navigation tab.
Drag YuJa from the list of hidden navigation items at the bottom of the page to the list of enabled navigation items.
Click Save.
Select YuJa in the course navigation menu.
Your YuJa account will be connected to your Canvas course space, enabling Canvas-specific sharing options.

Manually Recording a Yuja Video

Using an Installed Classroom PC

Open the YuJa Software Station application.
Select Single Sign On and UC Irvine, then press Sign In.
In the menu on the left-hand side, adjust Video, Audio, and Screen settings as needed.
Tap your microphone to verify the level bounces under Mic Source.
Enter a title and description for your video.
Select a class if you are using the YuJa integration in Canvas and would like to make this recording available to an associated class.
Press Start to begin recording.
Press Stop to end the recording.
Press Save to post the recording in your private media library.

Using Other Computers

Open the YuJa Software Station application.
Select Single Sign On and UC Irvine, then press Sign In.
Adjust Video, Audio, and Screen settings as needed on the left-hand menu.
Click on Settings in the upper right corner and select Screen Capture.
Set the Frame Rate to 15 frames per second.
Verify the resolution for your computer (or leave the default 1280 x 720).
Press OK.
Tap your microphone to verify the level bounces under Mic Source.
Enter a title and description for your video.
Select a class if you are using the YuJa integration in Canvas and would like to make this recording available to an associated class.
Press Start to begin recording.
Press Stop to end the recording.
Press Save to post the recording in your private media library.
