LabArchives

Electronic Lab Notebook

Description

LabArchives Electronic Lab Notebook is a digital notebook that can be used to organize and record research information. LabArchives makes it easier for people to collaborate, and provides a streamlined experience for instructors to review students’ work.

You might use this to:

  • Organize research
  • Increase collaboration between students
  • Provide real-time feedback to students regardless of location

LabArchives is also useful for non-STEM courses that need a place to collect and organize information and media.

LabArchives Data Retention

As long as you are able to log into UCI systems with your UCInetID and Password, you should have access to any content you have created in your own LabArchives notebooks, provided UCI still has a contract with LabArchives. As soon as your UCI account has been decommissioned, and have thus lost access to UCI systems, you will also lose the ability to login to LabArchives. Because of this, we recommend making a backup copy of any LabArchives Notebooks before separating from the University.

For more information, please see LabArchives’ guide on creating an Offline Notebook.

In the event you were not able to create a backup before leaving the University, we recommend contacting the EEE Support Team to request temporary access to recover your Notebooks.
